Plating is not solid gold or silver. How gold plating works

Gold and silver plated Shree Mumba Devi temple murti

See it in your mandir before you buy

Every murti in our shop has a 3D view. Turn one in your hand, zoom in, then place it in your room at its real size.

  1. Tap “Rotate in 3D”, then drag to turn the murti and pinch to zoom.
  2. On your phone, tap “View in your space” and point the camera at your mandir.
  3. See the true size. This Mumba Devi temple stands 8 inches tall.

The 3D view is a preview of shape and size. The real murti is carved and finished by hand, so in person it is far richer in detail, colour and shine.

From Mumbai’s temples to your home

At the Mahalaxmi Temple on Bhulabhai Desai Road, three goddesses share one sanctum: Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswati. Our shrine murtis keep that arrangement, down to the nameplate beneath each goddess.

Mumba Devi gave the city its name, yet her murti was almost impossible to find. Ours recreates her twin-dome temple at Bhuleshwar, with Jagdamba and Annapurna Devi beside her.

About our workshop
  1. Cast in marble dust

Fine marble dust sets in a hand-finished mould until it holds a stone-like form.

  2. Detailed by hand

Artisans sharpen crowns, jewellery and garment folds with fine files and carving tools.

  3. Painted or plated

Colour goes on in layers, with the eyes painted last. Gold and silver pieces are plated instead.

  4. Sealed, checked, packed

A waterproof coat, a final inspection, then cushioned packing for the journey to you.

How each murti is made

A gift that stays in the family

A murti is given once and kept for generations. For Diwali, a new home or a wedding, it’s the gift that earns a place in the mandir.

Ask about bulk or custom orders

Is the gold and silver plating real gold?

Yes. It is a real layer of gold and silver over the murti, but it is plating, not solid gold or silver, which is why these murtis cost thousands of rupees rather than lakhs. Our gold-plated murti guide explains how plating works and how to judge it.

How big is a 6-inch or 11-inch murti in real life?

A 6-inch murti is about the height of a smartphone and suits a shelf or wall mandir. An 11-inch murti is close to the height of an A4 sheet and works as the centrepiece of a full pooja room. On a compatible phone, six of our murtis can be placed in your room at their true size using “View in your space”. See the murti size guide for more.

How soon will my order arrive?

We dispatch within 2–5 business days, and delivery takes 4–8 business days after that, depending on your city. Shipping is free on orders over ₹5,000 and a flat ₹99 below that. For delivery before Dhanteras (6 Nov), order by 20 Oct.

What if my murti arrives damaged?

Tell us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we will send a free replacement or give you a full refund. Unused murtis in their original packing can also be returned within 30 days. See our refund and returns policy.

Can I use a marble-dust murti for daily puja?

Yes. Every marble-dust murti is sealed with a plastic-coated, waterproof finish, so tilak, flowers and a damp cloth won’t harm the paint. Gold and silver plated murtis should be kept dry and wiped with a soft cloth to protect the plating. Read why marble dust murtis last.

Do you take custom, bulk or international orders?

Yes. We make custom sizes and finishes, supply temples and businesses in bulk, and ship worldwide with export-grade packing. Message us on WhatsApp for a quote.

Not sure which murti to choose?

Tell us where it will sit and who it’s for, and we’ll suggest the right deity, size and finish.
