About this murti
Mumba Devi is the goddess Mumbai is named after — the guardian deity of the city's original Koli fisherfolk, worshipped at the historic Mumba Devi temple near Zaveri Bazaar for centuries. Yet until now there has been no handcrafted Mumba Devi murti you could bring home. We made one.
Our artisans have recreated the temple's twin-dome sanctum in marble dust: Shree Mumba Devi enshrined alongside Jagdamba Devi and Annapurna Devi, in an intricately carved double-shrine with hand-painted multicolour detailing — a living darshan of Mumbai's own goddess for your home mandir.
Like all our marble-dust pieces it is sealed with a 100% waterproof plastic-coated finish, so daily worship never spoils the colours. At roughly 8 inches, it fits home mandirs and pooja shelves comfortably.
This murti means the most to Mumbaikars near and far — it has become our most-loved gift for families who have moved away from the city, and for anyone whose devotion to Mumba Devi began at the temple itself. As far as we know, this is the only handcrafted Mumba Devi murti available online, made in Mumbai by a Mumbai workshop.
